Eligibility & Timeline
Persons nominated for Primary Source Awards must be librarians or library staff, faculty members (includes adjunct faculty, instructors, graduate assistants), and administrators within the community of CRL libraries. Nominations remain eligible for consideration for two nomination cycles, subject to Collection and Services Policy Committee discretion. Runner-up entries from the previous year are automatically entered for the following year’s selection process.
Eligibility Timeframe
The key projects and scholarly products cited in the nominations must have been initiated or completed within two years of the submission deadline, subject to Collection and Services Policy Committee discretion.
To confirm eligibility, nominated persons and organizations will be required to provide documentation of the research, activities, methodologies, facilitated processes, etc., cited in the nomination. All documentation will be forwarded to the Collection and Services Policy Committee to facilitate the review and evaluation process.
Awards Program Timeline
Nominations will be accepted and processed as follows:
- June–January: Nominations accepted online until midnight on January 31.
- February–March: Nominations vetted for eligibility, then submitted to the Collection and Services Policy Committee for review and evaluation.
- April: Primary Source Awardees and their nominators notified. Primary Source Awards announced and presented during CRL’s Council of Voting Members Annual Meeting. Prizes will be shipped to awardees and nominators following this event.
